Recently, Janys sculpted 54 miniature figures for scenes that were purchased by the Miniature Museum of Taiwan. These figures were for the new children's section, and include Alice in Wonderland, Gulliver's Travels, Snow White, Cinderella, and Jack and the Beanstalk. Shown here is the entire tree for the Alice in Wonderland exhibit.
This is where the largest display is found, on the base of the tree scene. The Queen stands in the pathway, pointing and shouting, "Off with her head!!", much to the consternation of Alice and the White Rabbit, who is now in his royal finery, blowing the trumpet. Behind the Queen, one guard (card) stands, mimicking her, while, another guard stands by the door and hides his mirth behind his hand. Alice is holding a flamingo under one arm (he is her mallet), while one card gardener bends backwards to be a wicket, for the running hedgehog ball. Two other card gardeners are painting the roses, and arguing over getting paint on each other. The Queen is about 5¾" tall, the gardeners about 5½". All figures are Sculpey.
